Wendy Thompson has been working with animals since she was 17 years old (56 years!)

Wendy was born in the United Kingdom and learned to communicate with dogs from as early as 3 years old when her mother took ill and was bedridden. Wendy “spoke” with the dog who was their “carer” and her gift continued and comforted her when her mother passed.  She did not speak at all for some time and would ONLY communicate with the dogs and her dad.

Wendy started an apprenticeship as a kennel maid at the age of 17 with one of the top Poodle breeders in the UK where she stayed for 8 years learning and soon progressed to manager, trainer and canine beautician and was involved in preparing dogs for all the big shows in the UK.

Wendy emigrated to South Africa where she managed a large kennel in Gauteng, moving on to eventually owning two very successful grooming parlours. She also bred and showed Borzois.

Wendy moved to the Cape in 1989 where she started a grooming parlour in Stellenbosch and became involved in animal welfare, having always been tuned in and able to read and handle most dogs – instinctively “reading” them.

​Wendy developed her intuition by doing courses and workshops that have brought her to where she is today
